Ed views his show as a stand-up routine with one goal in mind: "To be so funny that I can look out the window of studio at the highway, see plumes of smoke rising from accidents, and know I caused them."

Ed-isms
Ed: "You don't get out a lot, do you?"
Caller: "Yes, I get out a lot!"
Ed: "Okay, start with right now. Hang up the phone and go out."
